Choquequirao Trek 4 Days – Discover the Lost Inca City in the Andes

Start your adventure with a pick-up from your hotel or Airbnb in the morning. First, visit Saywite Archaeological Park to explore the carved Inca stone model. Then, continue by car to Capuliyoc for lunch with stunning views of the Apurimac Canyon. Afterward, begin a downhill hike towards Chikiska, passing scenic viewpoints like Cocamasana. Your first overnight stay will be at a rural lodge with double/matrimonial beds.

🏕 Camp: Marampata (2,850 m)
⏰ Departure: Early morning

After an early breakfast, begin the descent to Playa Rosalina by the Apurimac River. Cross the bridge and begin a steep ascent to Santa Rosa, continuing on to Marampata. Upon arrival, enjoy a relaxing lunch with views of Choquequirao, followed by free time to explore and soak in the beauty around you.

Begin your return hike from Marampata, descending through the lush Apurimac Canyon. Pass through familiar trails and enjoy a final look at the breathtaking views before arriving at Capuliyoc. After lunch, settle into your last campsite with time to rest and reflect.

Enjoy a hearty Andean breakfast before beginning the final stretch of the trek. Retrace your steps along the scenic trail, ascending gradually for two hours to the Capuliyoc Pass (2,915 m). Along the way, take in the last breathtaking views of the Apurimac Canyon, snow-capped peaks, and Andean wildlife—keep an eye out for soaring condors.

Upon arrival at Capuliyoc, relax and enjoy a well-earned lunch with panoramic views of the Apurimac Valley and Choquequirao. In the afternoon, board your private transport back to Cusco (3-hour drive), with an estimated arrival at your hotel around 6:00 PM.
